Sherrie Cocanougher
Lampwork Bead Artist
email

Sherrie Cocanougher is a lampwork glass bead artist from a small community located in Boyle County Kentucky called Forkland. She has been working with soft glass for a little over 2 years. Her first training in glass came from a 2 day class in Louisville Kentucky at Glassworks and from there a lot of reading, video tutorials and practice, practice, practice. She has always had a love for crafting, jewelry and color. She has formal training in Interior Design from Eastern Kentucky University which furthers her love for design and color. Lampworking has been a great creative outlet to express her love of these things. She also enjoys making fine silver, cooper and gold filled wire into handmade links to combine with her handmade glass beads. She also uses vintage silverware to craft bracelets and necklaces to mix with her handmade glass beads.

Sherrie’s studio can be found in the garage of her home. She works at a surface mix torch and uses a ceramic digital controlled kiln to anneal her beads. She uses mostly soft glass from Moretti and Vetrofond to craft her beads.

Please feel free to contact her with any questions you may have about any of her designs or to have her make a piece just for you. Her work can be purchased at the Community Arts Center or in her husband’s picture framing business, The Frame Cellar, located in Danville Kentucky. She can also be found at several Arts and Crafts Fairs in and around Central Kentucky. You can contact Sherrie by phone or by email.
