Glass

Making glass beads is my passion. I am intrigued with the way molten glass flows- it’s viscosity susceptible to the slightest change in temperature. In the torch glass straddles the line between solid and liquid. That is where the art is done- colors added- shapes modified- is the glass to form a round bead? a square bead? a turtle? a fish ? I add more glass- different colors - I squeeze it here- I smooth it there- When satisfied I pop the fresh creation into the kiln where annealing makes the glass stable and strong. The result is a unique piece of art- frozen forever- or until the surface of the earth reaches 1400 degrees Fahrenheit- the temperature COE 104 glass flows.

What do you do with a bead?

As a bead maker I fell obligated to make jewelry- earrings bracelets etc. I sell single beads, large focal beads- to be worn on a simple cord or used by other artist as part of their own unique creations.

I don’t consider myself a jeweler. I am a bead maker and spend a lot of energy looking for other “uses” for a bead. I search for new reasons for customers to buy my beads, for functions beyond personal adornment. My beads are fan pulls. They decorate useful items- letter openers, magnifying glasses, salad forks etc. which make unique gifts for both men and women.

When you buy my beads on their own or with job you are getting an one-of a kind work of art that will bring beauty into yours or a lucky someone’s life.
