"Water color is my medium of choice. It allows an artist to capture the beauty of nature by permitting colors to flow and mix on the surface of the paper. The white of the paper also sparkles through the paints, adding a vibrancy that is unique to watercolors.
A love of the outdoors is evident in my representational and semi-abstract paintings. Inspirations are sparked from divergent shapes in nature. In addition to watercolor, some paintings are enhanced by the incorporation of collage and/or pen and ink. Handmade or texturizes tissue paper is torn/cut into shapes and adhered to provide interest.
Recently, I have begun to experiment with alcohol inks. They are a fantastic way to allow creativity to bloom. Special effects can be achieved by manipulating the intense liquid colors on slippery surfaces. Masked, pen and ink, and various mediums provide texture and variety.
Numerous galleries in Kentucky and Indiana have exhibited my art. Recognition has been received from Illiana Artists, the Lexington Art League, the Scott Count Art League, and the Kentucky Watercolor Society. I am a juried and exhibiting member with the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, Ky."
