Bethany Butters, Our New Artist in Residence!

  The Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen is proud to present Bethany Butters of Steam-Bee Pottery as our new Artist in Residence! Bethany joined the Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen in February 2017, making her one of our newest members! She describes the inspiration for her work as, “an integration between both the industrial history and the vibrant nature in Kentucky by reflecting the textures and colors found in old rivers, industrial parks, coal mines, and the vibrant shades of the hillsides. Demonstrations by Robert Mattingly

  Bob is a Kentucky native who grew up in Maysville. He always loved working with metal. After graduating from high school, he attended Morehead State University, where he obtained a degree in Business Education and manufacturing. He then went on to get a Master's degree in Vocational Education. He spent 20 years as a contract engineer traveling all over the country doing automated manufacturing for various companies. He then settled in Powell County where he spent 20 years teaching in the public school system.
