Whitney Withington - Artist of the Month for March 2019

Find out more about Whitney Withington, KY Guild Artist of the Month, March 2019! Doing business as Sacred Woman Text, Whitney Withington has been creating unique and personal hand-made journals since the 1990s. In 2019, Whitney received a grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women to create artist books presenting the lives of African-American women and their families in Appalachia. A collection of her hand-made journals are available at the Kentucky Guild Visual Arts Galleries in Old Town Berea.

Diana Colgate - Artist of the Month - February 2019

Diana Colgate lives in Somerset, Kentucky. She primarily works from models, nature, and photos. The inspiration for her work is nature and objects in transition. While pastels are her primary medium, she also works in watercolors, oils, and pencil. Her favorite subjects include portraits, landscapes, doorways and porches. Join our February Artist of the Month as she teaches with our Art & Crafts School. KGAC <3 LASC

The Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen is proud to announce our exhibit, partnering with the Living Arts and Science Center. The Living Arts and Science Center is located at 362 North Martin Luther King Boulevard, Lexington, Kentucky 40508. The Living Arts and Science Center in partnership with the KGAC will feature an exhibition of selected members from the guild’s juried artists and craftsmen.  Works in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, fiber, metal, photography, and wood will be on display in the LASC’s Kinkead and Atrium Galleries September 14th through November 24th.  Special workshops will be organized with participating KGAC members and presented at the LASC during the run of the exhibition.
