In this class, we will learn what brushes to use for best results, how to prep your canvas for a smoother, easier job, blending colors, the art of values—creating depth in your painting—and contrast—what makes a painting interesting. By the end of the day you will walk out with your first completed painting!
Together, we will paint our own versions of the painting Moonlit (see image).

About the Instructor:
Jennifer Stanley is a self taught artist coming to Madison County in 1998 from the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky. She began painting with oils at 7 years old and switched to acrylics in 1982.In her technique, she builds layer upon layer of acrylic paint to finish with a very smooth look that many think is an oil painting rather than an acrylic work.In 1992, she started my study of portraiture.Later, in 1998, she began working with Andrew Lynn, of LAI, an illustrative firm in Lexington, KY, where she learned perspective drawing and working with blueprints to create architectural renderings.Today, her home is her studio, where something is always on the easel!See her website:www.jennysstudio.com
